Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Sven agree and more to the point why don't Salah, Rose the other week, Alli, Murray last year against us kicking our defender's leg and going down etc get pulled up for it and awarded a retrospective ban, so only Lanzini & Diasse have gone down easily in the last 18 months

Total load of bollocks

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
I think it IS fairly obvious that if the offence on Arnie was committed on Salah or Kane it would have been a pen without hesitation

Can you imagine us ever getting a pen like Salah’s v Newcastle where a hand on his shoulder meant he lost the use of his legs?
Inconceivable

We were lucky we didn't get a penalty instead of our first goal...

I was thinking this last night. Especially when i saw palace score another penalty. We never get them. Thought Arnies was a blatant pen. if that was at old trafford or anfield it would of been a penalty all day long.

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Because we don't do a Superman impression like Kane does everytime we get in the box. I have given up on refs making the right calls now and VAR won't sort it as it comes down to interpretation and everyone has different views. I think you have to catch the ball above head height and shove it up your jumper to be given handball against you these days.

Antonio could have played for one last night but decided to blast his shot over the bar, FairPlay but could have been the difference between 1 and 3 points.

I'm also amazed that we don't concede penalties more often when the idiot Ogbonna plays.
His wrestling in the area is just stupid.

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
just had a quick look.
Last season we were awarded 4 (8th)
More than Liverpool, Man U and Tottenham (3)
Crystal Palace top with 10!
Make of that what you will.

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Is it easier to ask why all Salah has to do is get touched to be given a penalty?

Arnie was rugby tackled last night, yet got nothing. Carroll got elbowed in the head, an offence for which he once received 2 yellow cads in 5 minutes, yet last night go nothing, apart from a cut.

Diang was tripped in the box and got nothing (nor a yellow card) yet refs think Salah has been fouled every time he goes down.

I don't understand.

Re: Why do we so rarely get a penalty?
Couple of things.

Firstly, our players don't really dive or make too much of a fuss- certainly not compared to many other players/teams.

Secondly, Arnie, Antonio and Carroll in particular do not get a lot of decisions their way- penalties or otherwise. Don't know if it's reputation or the fact they are both such units that officials have a hard time believing they've been fouled. Carroll often gets pinged when it looks like he's the one being fouled.
